This book is based on two premises: that everyone loves a story and anyone can tell a story. It includes easy to remember interactive stories, hints and props for telling them and theme based storytelling sessions suitable for centres and home. I used the stories here to introduce each storytelling session in the tales for terrific talkers programme. It is an additional resource that parents and early childhood workers can used when conducting their storytelling sessions. Young babies and children enjoy songs and rhymes that have accompanying actions. The actions provide the child with visual stimulation and also give meaning to the words. Repeating these action songs and rhymes regularly with your baby or young child assists in developing language skills.
